Her legendary status as the “The World’s Greatest Syncopated Pianist” is celebrated with this the first SHELLAC series CD release. Also known as ’The Parlophone Girl”, Raie da Costa was regularly top of the bill, playing for the opening of radio stations and the crowned heads of Europe. She was equally at home with more serious music and we have included her marvellous recording of the Rigoletto Paraphrase (Verdi arr Liszt).
